Hyperlocal Grant 2026
Obviously Sustainable is launching the first round of its hyperlocal grant in 2026 to support organisations in addressing the impacts of the twin transitions, namely digital transformation and the climate transition. The grant aims to ensure these global shifts in climate action and digitalisation remain people-centred, placing communities and individuals at the heart of industrial change.

What's the grant issue coverage?
The twin transition refers to the far-reaching global shift driven by climate action and digital transformation, both of which aim to address sustainability challenges. While these efforts are intended to strengthen long-term planetary health, they also carry real costs for people and communities. This grant is intended to support small-scale activities that help organisations mitigate these impacts, which covers at least one of the following topics:
Social protection: Measures and initiatives that help communities manage social and economic impacts arising from climate and digital transitions. This includes community-based support, safety nets, and inclusive initiatives/policy to support vulnerable groups.
Skills development: Support communities to acquire new skills, empowering individuals to socially and economically thrive in digital and climate transitions.
Digital inclusion: Efforts and initiatives to ensure equitable access to digital technologies, skills and services; enabling access, literacy and meaningful participation in the community.
Climate resilience and adaptation: Actions to enhance local communities and institutions to adapt to climate-related risks and impacts.
The Hyperlocal Grant
OS has secured IDR 100 million (around US$ 5.900) for the initial edition of the grant. We welcome all-type organisations, such as non-profits, small businesses, and academic institutions in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian region. We seek to provide up to four (4) grants to different organisations. The grant may be used to finance (or co-finance) activities and programmes that seek to address the “twin transition” topic. Among others, eligible activities are as follows:
Organisations of digital, food systems, climate literacy workshops in rural villages.
Re-skilling and/or upskilling avenues for the informal workforce in the energy sector.
Village Development Planning Deliberations (e.g. MUSREMBANGDES in Indonesia) for local policy development addressing digital and climate issues.
Project series to develop teaching and learning tools that address digital and climate transitions.
Activities to help any existing crisis related to informal and critical sector workforce (energy sectors, critical minerals, food systems, and etch)
And, other related activities falling under the topic of twin transitions.
Selection Criteria
OS does not look out for big and bombastic projects for this grant. The more useful the project to help human life affected by the digital and climate transitions are deemed more aligned with our mission. We value the hyperlocal nature of the activities, where it addresses specific geographical areas. Value for Money (VfM) principles will be applied in assessing the proposals. Finally, intersectionality elements (gender and other social inclusion indicators) will be an added value. Below, you may see a quantified selection criteria that we will apply for the project.
Submission Guidelines
We do not provide any specific guidelines for proposals as long as they are aligned with the selection criteria above. You may submit in the form of documents or presentations but ensure they comprise of both technical and financial elements. Submit your proposal via the following link https://bit.ly/OS-grant2026 before 23.59 on Friday, 13 March 2026.
Any questions related to the grant may be directed to Hesty (hesty@o-sustainable.org).
Selection Outcomes:
We expect a presentation-led interview to follow up the submitted proposals in end of March 2026. All proposals, regardless of the outcome, will be notified on their status of application by early April 2026.
